Accessing Resources from Off Campus: Cookies, Firewalls and Popups

Deleting Cookies

Sometimes you may find you need to delete cookies already on your system in order  to use our databases through our proxy server.

To delete cookies on your browser, follow these steps

Edge - from menu in top right corner, click Settings, then click the Manage Cookies button at the top. Click Remove All.

Firefox - from the menu in the top right corner, click Settings, then select Privacy & Security. Scroll down to Cookies and Site Data and click Clear Data

Chrome - from the menu in the top right corner, click Settings, then select Privacy and security, then click Delete browsing data and click the Delete data button.

Firewalls and Popup Blockers

Firewalls and popup blockers can cause you to receive error messages when using library databases. Disable popup blockers while you are using our databases. You can always go back and enable them again for general Internet use.

For personal firewall software, such as Norton Security, make sure that cookie blocking is set to "none" and that the browser privacy box is unchecked. You can always go back and recheck these later.

Ad blocking software may have settings that block cookies. Set the program not to block cookies.
