Publication Metrics: Cabell's

Library Subscription

The Libraries subscribe to the Accounting, Economics & Finance, Management, Marketing, and Educational Curriculum & Methods modules of Cabell's Directory of Publishing Opportunities. The directory provides the following information about journal titles:

  1. submission guidelines
  2. review process and type
  3. acceptance rates
  4. publication time
  5. review time
  6. Cabell's Classification Index (a measure of the journal's rank relative to other journals in the field)
  7. scite index
  8. Altmetrics reports (in some cases)
  9. Difficulty of acceptance
  10. Writing and citation style used by the journal

The scite index has replaced Clarivate's journal impact factor in Cabell's.  According to the information provided in Cabell's, scite uses deep learning to classify citation statements in three categories: those that provide disputing or supporting evidence, and others, which mention the cited study without providing evidence for its validity. The SI is calculated using this formula:

SI = [ (# supporting cites) / (# supporting cites + # disputing cites) ]

Journals must have at least 100 testing cites (supporting and/or disputing) in the measured period to receive an SI.
