Renewal

Patrons can request renewals through their ILLiad accounts a few days before the book is due. The lending libraries set the loan periods and some libraries do not allow renewals. Wait a few days for the lender to reply and then check in ILLiad to find the new due date.

NOTE: renewals must be made by the day BEFORE the due date. If you have any questions, contact the ILL Office at (251) 460-7034 or libref@southalabama.edu.

Overdues

Items must be returned by the due date to the Circulation Desk or to the Interlibrary Loan office. Any overdue charges assessed by the lending library must be paid by the patron. Borrowers who consistently disregard due dates may be refused further service.

How to Renew in ILLiad

  1. To renew material in ILLiad, login in to your ILLiad account.

  2. Under Checked Out Items, your ILL books will be listed in alphabetical order.
Scroll down to the title you want to renew.

  3. To the right of the screen, click on the Renew link.

  4. A message will appear at the top of the page giving you a temporary due date or letting you know if you cannot renew the material.

  5. The actual new due date will be determined by the lending library. You will receive an email letting you know whether or not the item has been renewed and, if it has been renewed, the new due date.
