Instruction Information

The Instructional Services department coordinates all formal educational activities at the Marx Library. Our priority is integrating instruction into identified research-intensive course. To identify your courses as such, please contact your Subject Liaison Librarian. In addition, Instructional Services coordinates the development and publication of print and online support materials such as subject research guides or LibGuides.

If you are interested in library orientation, please contact Jason Ezell (jezell@southalabama.edu or 251-414-8178).

For more information, see Instructional Services.

Services for Specific Courses

Freshman Seminar

Those first-year students enrolled in Freshman Seminar courses receive a basic introduction to the University Library and library research through an online library research tutorial and assignment. For more information, please contact Jason Ezell (414-8178) or visit http://libguides.southalabama.edu/libresearch.

English 102

All students enrolled in EH 102 have the opportunity to attend a library session orienting them to sources suitable for the course's required papers. A detailed companion website is also available: http://libguides.southalabama.edu/eh102. For more information, please contact Elizabeth Rugan Shepard (461-1575).

Course Guides

Faculty may request that a targeted research guide be created for their class. These guides, known informally as LibGuides, can supplement in-class instruction, or be a standalone resource. To request a customized guide for your course, you may:
