Open Learning Communities: The Options Abound
Considering the wealth of resources out there in the open learning community, this resource is intended to be a guide to help you both distinguish between the different types and help you choose which resource(s) is best for your particular academic endeavor.
The different communities have been divided into 3 different silos based on their content and method of creation: Open Content, Social Learning, and Reputation-Based Networks. Of course like anything, the lines drawn here are not always so clear; different resources often blur the lines.
Each tab lists the different open learning communities that fall under each specific category.
I hope this guide is helpful, and please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
