Knowledge Unlatched is a program supported by many libraries, including the USA Libraries, that endeavors to create "a sustainable path to Open Access (OA) for Humanities and Social Sciences monographs."
Knowledge Unlatched titles can be found through SOUTHcat or through the Open Research Library page. For a list of titles in SOUTHcat, type "knowledge unlatched" and choose "Electronic Books" as a limit. Titles can also be be browsed at the Open Research Library page.
Searching the Open Research Library
The search choices in The Open Research Library are the Basic Search and the Advanced Search. The Advanced Search allows you to specify a field to search, such as title, category, content type, language, and publication year, which makes your search more precise.
You can read a Knowledge Unlatched book online or download it to your computer. Downloading requires that you have the free Adobe Digital Editions installed.
