Scholarly Communications: Finding Images

Databases Containing Images

The Biomedical Library subscribes to numerous databases containing images that may be used for educational purposes. Bear in mind, however, that commercial (or any “for profit”) use is not allowed. Because of our licensing agreements with the vendors of the resources on this page, access is limited to currently-enrolled students, faculty, and staff of the University of South Alabama (“affiliated users”). These databases are accessible via the Library Resources/Databases and Resources link on the left-hand sidebar of the Biomedical Library homepage.

New England Journal of Medicine

The New England Journal of Medicine: Videos in Clinical Medicine ("NEJM") contain images accessible via the “Articles & Multimedia” tab on the top search bar on the NEJM homepage.  According to information found on the NEJM homepage, content may be used in print and electronic versions of a dissertation or thesis, with proper attribution.  (Access NEJM  via the “Journals” tab on the Biomedical Library homepage.)
