NU Nursing Theory: Home

Databases

Introduction

The Nursing Theorist/Theory page is designed to provide insight and access to numerous resources about nursing theory and the individuals who helped developed them.  The page contains a variety of materials including primary works authored by well-known theorists, secondary articles discussing various nursing theories and theorists and several texts written to provide an overview of the topic.

This page’s main focus, however, is on the primary writings of celebrated and highly-regarded nursing theorists.

These pages contain lists of links, many of which go directly to full-text, online journals and texts.  Some of the links, indicated by words “Print Only,” connect to SouthCat, the University Libraries’ online catalog.  In these cases the library does not have the given text in an electronic format, but there is a print version available at the library and the catalog will indicate the work’s specific location.

This page should be considered a work-in-progress with new materials and resources added regularly.  If you have any questions or suggestions regarding this page please contact Justin Robertson either by email (jcrobert@southalabama.edu) or phone (251-460-7045).
