Marx Library: COVID-19 FAQ

As it is strongly advised by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the University of South Alabama Academic Affairs, USA Libraries will not offer group studying areas at this time.

 

Study places during the Fall semester?

Marx Library

Inside Study Spaces

  • All four floors are now open.
  • Group study rooms are individual use only, see Circulation Desk for access.
  • All students, staff, and faculty are required to wear masks and maintain physical distance from others while inside the library. 

White Boards and Office Supply Usage

  • Whiteboards are open to students.
  • Staplers and hole punches will be provided near the Circulation Desk.

Cleaning

  • The Marx Library staff will clean regularly throughout the day. 

Food and Drink

  • Filtered water dispensers are accessible to students on the first and second floor.

Outside Study Spaces 

  • Yes, outdoor seating is available in our courtyard area and second-floor terrace (closest to the Student Center on the south side of our building).
  • Tables are at first come first serve basis. 
  • Please bring your own PPE, Thank you!

Reference Assistance .

  • All reference help will be done remotely through reference chat service and Zoom.
  • Scroll to the bottom of our COVID-19 page to find our reference chat boxes and current hours.
