General Research Ideas

When you research, it is generally good to:

  • Be prepared to repeat and refine searches. Research is iterative!
  • Look at articles and books with an eye for how you can use them.
  • Be open to using articles that only answer part of your research question.

The research process is about combining multiple resources together to answer your research question.

My example question: What barriers do marginalized people in Mobile face when trying to access health care?

  • I can use research about similar cities to apply that information to Mobile's population.
  • I can use more general research about demographic groups and apply that information to Mobile.
