ISC 673: Digital Investigations

This guide is to support Dr. Black's Digital Investigations course

Why Zotero?

Zotero is a free, powerful, open-source research tool. It will help you manage citations, take notes in papers, organize resources for multiple projects simultaneously, and allow you to choose from a multitude of citation styles or even add your own. We will go over the basics of how to use Zotero here and link to some other resources as well to help you get started.

Adding Articles to Zotero

Adding Articles

1. Open Zotero. In your browser, search for an article in a database.

2. Click the Zotero Connector icon at the top of your browser to save a citation from that page. The icon will change based on the type of item on the page. For example, on a library catalog page for a book, the Zotero save button will show a Book icon.
