BLY 310: Economic Botany: Writing with Zotero

This guide was created to support Dr. Mata's BLY 310 course

Annotating in Zotero

You can highlight, annotate, and take general notes in Zotero. It is good practice to always make a note when you highlight!

1. Highlight the text with your cursor. When you are done highlighting, a window will open asking you to choose the highlight color.

2. Once you have highlighted the text, it will look like this :

3. Then you will see a way to annotate the text in the left pane of Zotero. If you do not see the annotation, click on the 'Annotation button" at the top of the left pane. Once you see the Annotation, click on it to add your own text. It is encouraged to always put your own note here and not just highlight text with no notes.
