Common Read/ Common World Program
The University of South Alabama has chosen Joshua Davis' Spare Parts as its 2020-2021 Common Read/Common World book. The book showcases the experiences of four undocumented teens as they prepare for and participate in the Marine Advanced Technology Education Robotics Competition.

Joshua Davis is the co-founder of Epic Magazine as well as a contributing editor at Wired. In 2014, he was a finalist for the National Magazine Award for feature writing. Spare Parts, which was named one of 2014's best new books by both Amazon and the BBC and was made into a movie in 2015, is Davis' third book.
