Help with writing using The Elements of Style

Asserting that one must first know the rules to break them, this classic reference book is a must-have for any student and conscientious writer. Intended for use in which the practice of composition is combined with the study of literature, it gives in brief space the principal requirements of plain English style and concentrates attention on the rules of usage and principles of composition most commonly violated.

Smart Thinking through the USA Online Writing Center

Students can access SMARTHINKING by logging on to the USA online page and then clicking on the Writing Tutor link located at the left-hand top of the page (if using eCollege). If using SAKAI, a SMARTHINKING link should be embedded in the course. An alternate log-on method is to enter the web site address: http://smarthinking.com. At the SMARTHINKING web site, the student must log on with his or her Jag number. The password is the last four digits of the social security number. - See more at: http://southalabama.edu/colleges/scesp/writing/smarthinking.html#sthash.Cxfdx16F.dpuf
