Ebook Collections that Require Adobe Digital Editions

Obtaining an Adbobe ID

In order to use the Marx Library’s ebook collections with digital rights management on them, you need to get a get an Adobe ID and download Adobe Digital Editions. These are both steps you only need to take one time; the id and the software will work with all collections requiring ADE.

Obtaining an Adobe ID

Go to http://www.adobe.com/
Click on Sign In at the top of the screen

Under the Sign In box, choose the Get an Adobe ID link

Fill out the sign up form
Your Adobe ID will be your email. Write this and your password down.

Adobe Digital Editions

Some of the Marx Library's ebook collections require the use of an Adobe ID and Adobe Digital Editions. Your Adobe ID can be setup at and the program can be downloaded from http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/.

However, the Kindle and the Kindle Fire are not supported devices, so EBSCO ebook Collection, EBL ebooks and ebrary titles are not downloadable to the Kindle but they are readable through the Kindle Fire's web browser.

Transferring Titles from ADE to Your Device

Before you can use Adobe Digital Editions to read ebooks, you need to obtain an Adobe ID. See instructions.

Before opening ADE, connect your device to your computer. Open ADE to display your library. Titles can be dragged from your ADE library and dropped into your device.
